Our most popular cartons for moving are the #10, #9, and #7 sizes. These cover everything from bulky items to heavy essentials and are available ex-stock in any quantity.
8. What are the best box sizes for moving house?
What is the #10 carton used for?
The #10 carton is our largest standard moving box, also known as a tea chest. It’s perfect for light but bulky items like clothing, bedding, cushions, and soft furnishings.
Why use a #9 carton instead of a #10?
The #9 carton has the same base as the #10, making it ideal for stacking in storage or containers. It’s slightly shorter in height, so it’s easier to carry when full—great for kitchen items, shoes, ornaments, and general household goods.
What’s the best box for books and heavy items?
The #7 carton is our go-to for books, vinyl records, canned goods, and heavier household items. Its smaller size prevents overloading and makes lifting and stacking safer and easier.
Do you sell packaging accessories too?
Yes! To help protect your belongings and stay organised, we stock:
Packaging tape and vivid markers for sealing and labelling
Newsprint and tissue paper for wrapping
Bubble wrap for added protection
